BOSS WL-20 / WL-20L
An exceptionally simple compact system—provided you choose the correct version for the instrument.
The WL-20 and WL-20L share BOSS's automatic 2.4 GHz setup and 2.3 ms stated latency. WL-20 adds cable-tone simulation for passive pickups; WL-20L is intended for active and acoustic-electric outputs.
Best suited to
Players who want automatic pairing with no pedalboard receiver or channel menu.
Look elsewhere if
You need long stage range, manual channel control or more than seven receiver hours.

Where the WL-20 / WL-20L fits
Treat the two models as different tools. WL-20 is voiced for passive guitar and includes cable simulation; WL-20L removes that voicing and is the appropriate version for active pickups, preamps and many acoustic-electric instruments.
The system's automatic channel selection is ideal for quick setups, but it offers little RF visibility. That is a reasonable compromise for rehearsal rooms and small stages, less so for coordinated multi-wireless productions.
